Business Disasters
A disaster is described as a significant disturbance in the functioning of a community or society that occurs over a relatively short period of time and results in widespread human, material, economic, or environmental loss. When we speak to business people, they think of a catastrophe as a big weather-related occurrence. A hurricane, a massive storm, or something along those lines. On a weekly basis, we see disasters, though on a smaller scale, to commercial properties.
In a commercial setting, a disaster is described as something that disrupts business or damages services or products, negatively impacting profitability. Here are some of the most common disasters we encounter.
- Failed Plumbing
- Appliances & Equipment
- Sprinkler System Malfunction
- Roof Leaks
Failed Plumbing
A commercial building, like your house, is vulnerable to faulty plumbing. Frozen pipe bursts are normal in the winter because people may try to save money by not keeping the property from freezing. The strain on plumbing caused by daily harsh use can also weaken and expose the plumbing..
Appliances & Equipment
From a basic water heater failure to big equipment requiring high water pressure, we've got you covered. Even with the best maintenance, appliances and equipment will fail. Examine the machinery in your commercial house. If you own a restaurant or provide food service, you will be more vulnerable.
Sprinkler System Malfunction
Get the sprinkler system serviced at least once a year. This is the most effective way to avoid malfunctions.
Roof Leaks
Okay, this one is weather-related. However, if you have roof problems, it does not take a major thunderstorm to leave water in your house. A simple shower can cause significant damage if the roof causes it to leak inside.
